The Muny

The Municipal Theatre Association of St. Louis, commonly called as the Muny, is an outdoor amphitheatre in Forest Park, St. Louis, Missouri. It is considered as the “nation’s oldest and largest outdoor musical theatre” with more 11,000 available theater seats and 1,500 free seats in the last nine rows.



 

It would be great to visit St. Louis in the mid June to mid-August where Muny seasons usually runs. Some of the plays in the last season includes “Legally Blonde”, “Kiss Me, Kate”, “The Little Mermaid”, “Singing in the Rain”, “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”, Little Shop for Horrors” and “Bye Bye Birdie”. The Muny Production operates only during the summer and they produce all of their musicals during the season. Production staff starts to prepare during the winter and rehearses in the course of eleven days and the show runs from Monday to Sunday.
